The Gambling and Gaming Support Unit (GSU) is part of the Government of Prince Edward Island’s Department of Health and Wellness. Our team works to help prevent gambling-related harms, reduce stigma, and connect Islanders with the information and support they need.
We believe that gambling and gaming should be approached in a healthy, informed way. Whether someone is looking for resources for themselves, a family member, a friend, or simply wants to learn more, we’re here to help.
Our team works across Prince Edward Island to raise awareness about gambling and gaming through education, community outreach, and partnerships. We regularly attend community events, health fairs, conferences, trade shows, schools, and workplaces to share information, answer questions, and connect with Islanders.
We work closely with schools, healthcare providers, community organizations, government departments, and other partners to promote healthy play and increase awareness of the supports available on PEI. We also provide educational presentations, professional development opportunities, and training sessions for a variety of audiences.
The Gambling and Gaming Support Unit is a non-clinical team. While we do not provide counselling or treatment services, we help Islanders understand their options and connect them with the right supports when they need them. We also work alongside the Public Schools Branch and La Commission scolaire de langue française to strengthen education, prevention, and early intervention efforts across the province.
Our work includes:
- Promoting healthy gambling and gaming habits.
- Providing education and awareness for youth, adults, families, and professionals.
- Supporting community events and outreach initiatives across PEI.
- Developing educational resources and campaigns.
- Connecting Islanders with available gambling support services.
- Working with partners to reduce stigma and encourage conversations about gambling and gaming.
Whether we’re visiting a classroom, attending a community event, giving a presentation, or meeting with local organizations, our goal is the same: to help Islanders make informed decisions and know that support is available when it’s needed.
We invite you to explore our website further to see how we’re working with Islanders across the province to build awareness, encourage healthy play, and foster meaningful conversations about gambling and gaming.
