PEITF Annual Convention 2024 - "We Got This! ~ O'n La! ... Leading, Learning & Succeeding Together"
November 7th and 8th 2024 ~ Prince Edward Island Convention Centre, Charlottetown
On November 7th and 8th 2024 The PEI Gambling Support Unit had the pleasure of engaging with 1700+ Island teachers and administrators at our Community Engagement and Awareness booth set up at The PEITF Annual Convention . It was an amazing opportunity to hear from teachers on some gambling and gaming related insights they may have from their experiences, as well as to make them aware of the supports available to all Islanders, both young and old alike.
This was also a great opportunity to provide teachers and administrators with information about the new Youth Gaming and Gambling Specialist role which is being developed through the Department of Health and Wellness. This exciting and timely new role will provide an engagement pathway for important early education directly in classrooms across The Island, on topics of Gambling and Gaming Safety and the associated risks involved, beginning with grade 5 and 6 students in early 2025.
