About:   From playing claw machines to opening card packs or loot boxes in video games, youth have access to gambling even though they may not be of legal age to gamble. This webinar addresses the blurred lines between gambling and gaming, explores in-game currencies and the reduced ‘pain of paying’ associated with the use of representations of money in micro-transactions, and discusses warning signs and strategies to reduce the harms associated with gambling and gaming.

Join our 2-hour CPD accredited training on Women and Gambling Related Harms led by GamCare's Women's Pathway Programme.

This training is aimed at practitioners working directly with women, to feel more confident in identifying gambling-related harms, and how to respond and signpost for support. During this training, we will cover the gambling-related harms women experience, either from their gambling or someone else's.

The objectives of this training are:

- Understand what gambling harm is and its different forms.​
- Recognise the risk factors and drivers to gambling harm.​
- Know how to spot the signs of gambling harm.​
- Understand the impacts of gambling harm for women who gamble or who are an affected other.​
- Knowledge of referral pathways for help and support.

The programme aims to raise awareness about gambling harms for women. We also deliver CPD accredited training for professionals and support groups for women affected by someone else’s gambling harm.

About:   Are you intrigued by the world of cryptocurrencies, NFTs, and their impact on gambling and gaming? This presentation offers a comprehensive overview of crypto assets and related key concepts such as cryptocurrency, NFTs, blockchain, and crypto wallets. It examines how these digital assets are transforming investment, online betting, and gaming.

We will discuss the risks of crypto investment compared to traditional stock market investing and delve into the potential harms of crypto gaming and gambling. This includes distinguishing between traditional games and NFT/Crypto games (e.g. GameFi, P2E games), exploring the relationship between cryptocurrency trading and problem gambling, and analyzing the influence of crypto influencer marketing on market fluctuations.
Additionally, this free educational presentation provides resources on crypto laws, scams, and investments, as well as community support services available for mental health issues related to gambling.
